Welcome back, beautiful mommies! We hope you’re doing well. Let’s start this entry’s topic, which is about having healthy habits for you and your baby and how this helps your pregnancy process.

The importance of maintaining healthy habits during pregnancy is not only about preparing the body for the time of giving birth but is also necessary for fetal development because of the role that food and mental health play.

And although the lifestyle must be adapted to the requirements of each woman, there are some basics that we all can consider to have a healthy pregnancy. Here are our most important suggestions:

Prenatal Care:

Attending all check-ups will help your doctor carefully monitor you and your growing baby throughout. Set up a schedule to manage all of your symptoms. It will also give you a scheduled time to ask about any concerns you’re having.

Balanced diet:

Eating a healthy diet is especially important for pregnant women. Your baby needs healthy food, not sugar and fat. Eat plenty of colorful fruits and vegetables, whole grains, calcium-rich foods, and foods low in saturated fat.

What not to eat:

There are certain foods that women should avoid eating while pregnant. Eliminate raw meats, liver, sushi, raw eggs (also in mayonnaise), soft cheeses, and unpasteurized milk from your pregnancy diet. Raw and unpasteurized animal products can cause food poisoning. And some fish, even when cooked, can be high in mercury.

Get your vitamins

Make sure to get plenty of folic acid and calcium. Spinach, oranges, broccoli, and beans are rich in folic acid. Milk, yogurt, and spinach are packed with calcium. A daily prenatal multivitamin, however, can help ensure you get the right amount. Ask your doctor for further questions.

Drink lots of water:

At least 2 liters of water per day. During pregnancy blood flow increases considerably, and drink fluids help avoid problems such as constipation and dehydration.

Get moving:

Daily exercise is great for most pregnant women. Check with your doctor first to find out how much physical activity would be right for you and your little one.

The most important thing, though, is to enjoy every step of the way. Pregnancy is a special moment in our lives. We hope this information was helpful!
